About Me
Hi everyone, my name is Liz Cashman, and I've been the technical facilitator for Vocera Communications since mid-2015. Prior to that career change, I spent 15 years in technical support, and have also worked in medical insurance billing, medical transcription, and as a certified nursing assistant in skilled nursing/rehabilitation facilities.

As an introvert, I never expected to have such passion for facilitating classes, and while I admit that it can be exhausting, I love feeling like I've helped those who attend my classes by making their work lives easier in some small way. There's something about seeing learners reach that a-ha moment that really keeps me going. My time at Colorado State University has helped me grow as a facilitator and as a person, and even though I might not have known exactly what I was getting into when I applied for a master's degree program, it has been immensely helpful to me, and I'm excited to see what happens next.

Outside of my professional life, I'm an avid reader, I make beaded jewelry, and am determined to learn how to knit or crochet. I love playing World of Warcraft and other console games, and depending on the season, you can find me watching professional hockey and college basketball, sometimes at the same time! I have a passion for foreign languages, particularly Irish Gaelic, and hope one day to go back to Ireland being able to speak the language.

In my spare time, when I have it, I also volunteer with a hospice group here in the Bay Area to provide companionship for hospice patients, or respite for their families.
